What do you do?

I’m a professional benefit auctioneer.

Why do you work with nonprofit events?

I want to help nonprofits succeed. They change the lives of many people in our community and I love being a part of their work!

What inspires you about a good event?

I love to see the passion teams show at an event. It rubs off on all the guests and everyone leaves feeling great about their contributions, including me!

What is your favorite moment at an event?

When I can give a total to a Development Director or Auction Chair and see their face light up with excitement and gratitude for the generosity of their guests.

WhaKelly Russell - MHKCt brings you the most joy in your work?

When a guest says they overspent on their budget. It means they were so moved by the organization, they had to give more.

What is the one piece of wisdom you would give to a development team working on their big event?

Keep it fun for everyone. No need to stress out. Everyone is volunteering to produce a great event, be a team that does it with a playful attitude and you will see it mirrored at your event.
