About Us

Our Story

As development professionals, we noticed something troubling: nonprofits were copying successful fundraising events but not seeing the heart of what made them work. They were missing the story behind the strategy, the human connection beneath the mechanics.

That observation sparked the creation of Swaim Strategies. We believed organizations didn’t need more templates. They needed to understand how the hard work they put into events could build movements and create moments where people don’t just give, but truly belong.

After producing hundreds of events and raising millions of dollars, we thought we had connection all figured out. Then the pandemic changed everything, and also clarified everything. Our virtual and hybrid expertise, rooted in years of live television production, suddenly had global reach. Organizations worldwide needed our help, but we had limited hands and hours.

 We faced a choice: say no, or find a new way to say yes.

Through education we chose yes. If we couldn’t be in every ballroom, we could share everything we’d learned with those who were: you.

Today, Swaim Strategies focuses on elevating the entire sector through the Elevate Conference, our educational resources, and The Fundraising Elevator podcast. Meanwhile, our production work continues through our subsidiary The Fundraising Event Co., where the team stands beside organizations in ballrooms across the country.

Our mission remains unchanged: helping you create gatherings where authentic human connection drives meaningful change. Because at the heart of every successful fundraising event is a story worth telling and a community worth building.
