Using Facebook to Fundraise for Your Nonprofit

In an effort to socially distance and help curb the spread of COVID-19, people are using social media platforms as virtual gathering places to foster conversations, tell stories and share updates.

For nonprofit organizations, Facebook goes one step further and provides easy-to-use tools to help you fundraise online. Facebook’s Charitable Giving Tools provide a simple way for you to raise money through Facebook—and 100% of the donations go directly to your work.

Donate Button

The donate button is a quick and easy way for people to donate to your organization without having to leave Facebook. Once you activate the donate button, you’ll be able to add it to your page, posts and live videos. Donors will be able to choose between a one-time or monthly recurring gift.

Facebook Page Fundraisers

All U.S. verified nonprofit pages can create a Fundraiser from their Facebook Page. Donors will be able to choose between a one-time or monthly recurring gift, and there’s even a way for you to match those donations as a way to motivate more giving. Your followers will also be able to start fundraisers on behalf of your organization, and you’ll receive 100% of those donations, no fee payments required.
