Jon Streamline

We like working with Jon and his team because:

Streamline Support does exactly that. They understand nonprofit events and the function of database software in the success of an event. They work well to help ensure our clients have a smooth registration and check out process.

What do you do?

I manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of Streamline Support Inc. (formerly Northwest Auction Support Inc.) I also provide onsite support to about 60 events annually.

Why do you work with nonprofit events?

Because nonprofit events provide financial support to causes that promote positive change in our community, and because many nonprofits lack the internal resources to handle the technical and logistical challenges that fundraising events present.

What inspires you about a good event?

I feel that fundraising events are successful because they are human. For the nonprofit, it’s a chance to connect with their supporters face to face. For the guests, it’s a chance to come together and feel a connection to a cause they feel passionate about. So for me, what’s inspiring about a good event is working behind the scenes so that everything is seamless, and allows those connections to happen.

What is your favorite moment at an event?

Wow, there have been a lot. But if I had to pick one, I recall the Basic Rights Oregon Ignite event (not sure what year) where all the staff formed a flash mob and took to the stage while “I Gotta Feeling” by The Black Eyed Peas played. There was such an amazing energy in the room that night.

What brings you the most joy in your work?

Put simply, it’s the smiles. When I see smiles on the guests *and* the staff of the organization we’ve just helped, it affirms everything we do.

Ed Streamline

What do you do?

I am Jon’s assistant at Streamline Support (formally Northwest Auction Support). I work in the office doing booking, sales and staffing, as well as being on site at several events throughout the year.

Why do you work with nonprofit events?

Lots of people go to work and do a great job, but when you do a great job and it benefits a nonprofit, there is extra satisfaction. At the risk of being hyperbolic, you definitely get the feeling that your work is helping those who make the world a better place.

What inspires you about a good event?

Simply put…happy guests, happy clients.

What is your favorite moment at an event?

My favorite moment was working at the Ethiopian Orphan Relief event in Portland. During the presentation, a live Skype session was done with an orphanage in Ethiopia. You could feel the excitement from the kids and their disbelief that a whole room of strangers in funny clothes from a place that they had never heard of was there to help them. They were so thrilled. It was very powerful.

What brings you the most joy in your work?

Working with new clients and the relief that they experience when I tell them that we are going to take care of a piece of their event that has historically been stressful for them.
